Feed the Penguin
Print a penguin image and mount it on poster board. Cut an opening at the penguin's mouth and prop it on a table. Place a box or dish behind it to catch the “fish” your budding biologists feed through its mouth. (Plastic fish available on Amazon.) Initially, encourage children to feed the penguin, counting as they go. Later, let them roll a die and feed the penguin the corresponding number of fish—a fun way to practice counting and number recognition!
