How Does a Pulley Work?
Teach students about simple machines by making this pulley system. Assemble pulley as instructed at Little Bins Little Hands. Fill bucket with small heavy objects like rocks or sand. Ask students to pick it up. Then have them try to lift the bucket with the pulley. Add more wheels. Do more wheels make lifting the bucket harder or easier?
