Count the Buttons!
Fill a bowl with colorful buttons and, using a large eye needle, show your child how to sew the buttons onto a sheet of plastic canvas. After your child has sewn on a number of buttons, ask him to count how many buttons there are of each color. This fun art-and-math activity boosts fine motor skills and improves hand-eye coordination. https://playtolearnpreschool.us/sewing-buttons/
Cool Spool Knitting Craft
With just an empty wood spool, four nails, and a hammer, you can make your own spool knitter! First cast on the yarn, then show your child how to “knit” by looping the yard over each nail. The finished product, a yarn rope, can be worn as a bracelet, headband, or belt. https://club.chicacircle.com/how-to-make-your-own-spool-knitter/
Weaving Made Easy!
Weaving a warm scarf or head wrap couldn’t be easier! All you need is yarn, straws, and an Olfa knife. Then let the magic begin! Have your child weave the yarn in and out, over and under the straws, and watch the scarf grow! https://club.chicacircle.com/easy-knitting-with-straws/
