 Find the Sock Partner
Here's a fun way to learn the beginning concepts of “2” and “pairs!” Young children will love this engaging challenge to pair single socks with their partners. Make a grid with blue paint tape and arrange a set of 10 socks (5 pairs), and let the matching begin! Source: https://dayswithgrey.com/toddler/toddler-games-with-socks/
 Graph-A-Sock Math Game
This game will help your young mathematicians build comparison and classifications skills! Create a simple graph and have children classify a collection of socks by color. For a more challenging version, create a graph with the following categories: Play Socks, Sports Socks, and Silly Socks. Have children attach socks to the graph with Velcro.   Make a Sock Collage
Young children enjoy participating in whole-group art projects with peers or classmates. On a large rectangular-shaped piece of fabric, create a gride with a magic marker that includes enough squares for the number of children participating.  Have each child tape or glue his/her own sock onto a square on the grid. This activity encourages children’s aesthetic sense, along with observation and comparison skills, and spatial relationships. Source: Sheila Kerwin
   Missing Sock Memory Game
Your little ones will love trying to figure out which sock went missing in this fun memory game.  Place five different socks on a tray.  Encourage children to study the collection momentarily.  Then ask them to close their eyes, as you remove one sock from the tray.  When they open their eyes, ask which sock is gone.  Source: Sheila Kerwin
   Silly Sock Day
Schedule a Silly Sock Day and find out what tickles each child’s funny bone!  Invite children to share with the group what they like most about their own silly pair of socks.   A simple, engaging event like this develops children’s aesthetic sense,  observation and comparison skills, and familiarity with the concepts of “2” and “pairs”.
